TIMELESS CHARM

For June and Yiren, home is more than just a space, it’s their cozy café, where love and warmth are always on the menu. Their 93-square-meter, four-bedroom BTO flat reflects their shared vision of a tranquil haven for relaxation and meaningful connections.

Nestled in a prime location near the upcoming Punggol Digital Hub and the MRT, the couple chose this unit for its convenience and serene surroundings. With lush greenery and a peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect first home close to their families.

June and Yiren envisioned a home that balances simplicity with function, ensuring every design element serves a purpose. They wanted a neutral and soothing aesthetic that promotes calm and openness while incorporating timeless elements to remain elegant and relevant for years to come.

The Living Room

The living room exudes a café-like charm with its plush curved boucle sofa, designed to foster intimate interactions and cozy moments. Translucent blinds allow natural light to filter in, while maintaining privacy. Travertine stones and miniature décor pieces add texture and character, and a wall-mounted lamp enhances the space’s warm ambiance.

Subtle curves throughout the home tie the design together, from the custom-built cabinetry to the rounded furnishings. While June and Yiren would have loved to incorporate more curved elements, the current balance feels just right, offering both visual interest and a sense of fluidity.

The Kitchen and Dining Area

Compact yet functional, the semi-open galley kitchen was reconfigured to maximize storage and workspace. By removing the dedicated yard area, June and Yiren gained practical countertop space without compromising the home’s layout. Walnut laminates on the lower cabinets complement muted upper cabinetry, creating a cohesive and bright design. A rounded beam, which previously separated the kitchen from the yard, adds a harmonious flow to the overall aesthetic.

In the dining area, a solid wood table paired with walnut laminates brings warmth and functionality. The large artwork above the table adds depth, transforming the space into a hub for entertaining, whether it’s hosting dinner parties or game nights with friends.

The Bedroom

The master bedroom is a sanctuary of calm, achieved by merging it with an adjacent room to create a larger, more relaxing space. Inspired by Muji’s clean and minimalist design, the room features warm wood tones and an understated elegance.

A Shoji-style sliding door, fitted with a translucent acrylic panel, separates the bedroom from the bathroom. This unique feature allows soft light to filter through, adding to the tranquil atmosphere while enhancing the room’s overall design.

BuildBuilt was recommended to June and Yiren by a trusted friend, and the experience exceeded their expectations. Designers Michelle and Felicia offered invaluable insights to refine the couple’s creative ideas and optimize the space effectively. Their collaborative approach ensured that every detail reflected the couple’s personalities and aspirations.

June and Yiren’s home now stands as a thoughtful blend of timeless design, cozy ambiance, and functional elegance, a space that perfectly encapsulates their shared vision. It is a home built with intention, where relaxation and connection flourish.
